Why Structure Lab Tags the End of the Price Leg
Why Does Structure Lab Tag the End of the Price Leg?
Analytics Require Completion to Measure Key Attributes
In order to extract quantifiable insights, the analytics engine must measure structure attributes such as:
Distance – How far did price travel?
Duration – How long did the leg take to develop?
Churn (Effort) – How much resistance did price encounter?
Volume – How much volume traded?
These characteristics can only be fully measured once the price leg has completed. If structure were tagged at the beginning, these attributes would be undefined, making statistical analysis unreliable.

Key Takeaways
✅ The Phase, LQ, and BoS are marked at the end of the price leg
(Ensures all structural attributes are measurable, creating accurate, quantifiable insights).
By tagging structure only after a leg is complete, Structure Lab transforms market structure analysis from subjective interpretation into a measurable, data-driven process.
Using a familiar Example: You can see how in our Phase Map that the Phases are labeled at the beginning of the price leg.

However, after applying your Structure Markers to the chart, you will put the labels at the end of the price leg as seen here:

Don't worry if this seems a bit confusing. We are going to walk-thru it from start to finish in the next section!
